Timeless Elements Med Spa & Laser Center

March 2011
Timeless Elements Med Spa & Laser Center was a fun project to work on with owner Lesa Thompson Stegner. It started in April 2010 when Lesa asked me to look at a space that she would be moving to with much more square footage than her existing space. Lesa gave me the number of rooms and their purpose and I began with the layout of her space. Many revisions were made to make it perfectly suited for her needs. Then we began the construction phase. Features were added as construction proceeded like the curved soffit above the reception desk. I knew I wanted it to really catch your attention as you walked in and it was easier for Lesa to visualize as things progressed and she trusted in my recommendations with changes along the way to make her space unique to her style.

All the plumbing, electrical and heating has been roughed in. The special details in framing have been completed and sheetrock is hung and is being taped at this time. The pictures shown here are all the same view. The first is the framing, the second with a curved façade framed in for above the reception desk. The final one is sheetrocked and has a double race track detail at the top of the façade. Things are moving quickly now and painting will be done the week of September 7th.

Owner Lesa Stegner opened Timeless Elements just 2 years ago at 368 South Lake Street in Forest Lake and has quickly outgrown the space. Lesa found the appropriate space and now she needed to start to plan the layout of the rooms. I have been working closely for several months with Lesa to find out her wants & needs for the space -- how many rooms were needed, the use of each room, what she liked about her existing space and how we could improve on the areas she didn’t like. I drew up some preliminary plans, met with Lesa, adjusted things a few times, and started the process of getting a building permit and bids from contractors. Framing started on Thursday July 22nd, 2010. The pictures are mid-afternoon the day they started and they are off to a great start. I met with Lesa for a few minutes inside the partially framed rooms and layed out the cabinets and massage tables in the room so Lesa could visualize things a little easier than on paper. She was smiling! Her vision was there for her!
